The Baix Penedès, whose capital Vendrell, is situated on the southwestern end of the pre-coastal depression. The lands are watered by rivers and streams and is the main riverbed of Bisbal.
The climate is Mediterranean, with hot dry summers favoring, rainfed crops such as grapes, olives almond and carob trees.
Most of the population, which is dedicated to the tourism and services, is concentrated in the capital of the region and other coastal towns. The rest of the population, which is engaged in agricultural work, is dispersed by the municipalities of the interior.
Historically, this region was inhabited since prehistoric times by the Iberians and the tribe which has caused cosetanos still have remains of their villages in different parts of the region as Can Hurdle, The Guards, The Citadel of Calafell or small Farm Fund Cunit d'en Roig.
